The Sadies

The Sadies share new song “Another Season Again”

Canadian four-piece The Sadies have premiered “Another Season Again” at PopMatters. The track is the third single to be released from the band’s forthcoming 10th studio album Northern Passages, out February 10. The album is now available to pre-order digitally via iTunes and physically via the Dine Alone webstore (Canada only).

Of the track, The Sadies’ Dallas Good says, “Another Season Again will (probably) be the conclusion to a series of songs that Sadie has written. Cool thing about this one is, there are no bells. No whistles. Just ‘ ocals’, bass, guitars and drums. We had to record it a few times to get it right but, well, here it is. I really hope you like it, despite my unpopular sentiment of being pro-ice age.”

Recorded in the basement of Dallas and Travis’ parents’ home north of Toronto over the winter of 2015, the familiar surroundings and lack of distractions resulted in a consistent feel, despite the eclecticism at the heart of The Sadies’ sound.

Recently noted by Pitchfork as an upcoming release, previous tracks “It’s Easy (Like Walking)” featuring Kurt Vile premiered at Consequence of Sound and “Riverview Fog” with Twangville.

The essence of The Sadies’ story can be summed up with the powerful image of the aurora borealis adorning the cover of their latest album, Northern Passages. Ever since the quartet, comprised of singer/guitarists Dallas and Travis Good, bassist Sean Dean and drummer Mike Belitsky, first arrived on the North American scene 20 years ago, their music has never been less than awe-inspiring, with no embellishment necessary.

Kicking off in Toronto on February 2, the band will be heading on a Canadian Ontario and East Coast tour supporting Blue Rodeo. A full list of dates is below.
