The Jezabels announce new album, Synthia
Australia’s award-winning indie-rock quartet, The Jezabels, have announced the release of their third studio album Synthia. Synthia is the anticipated follow-up to hit LP The Brink and will be released in Canada on February 12, 2016. Digital pre-sale is available now via iTunes. In the meantime, although the first official single from the new album isn’t due for release until early 2016, the band have released a hauntingly beautiful six-minute video for the track “Come Alive”, directed by Darcy Prendergast & Xin Li @ Oh Yeah Wow. Watch the video below.
High expectations are a given now for Hayley Mary (vocals), Heather Shannon (keys), Sam Lockwood (guitar) and Nik Kaloper (drums), seven years since those first EPs, The Man is Dead, She’s So Hard and Dark Storm began their slow burn from Sydney to the world; four years since their debut full-length Prisoner scooped the Australian Music Prize and set stages ablaze from their breakthrough performance at Splendour in the Grass to Lollapalooza, and almost two years since The Brink and the spectacular global onslaught that followed, with talked about live performance slots at Montreal Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, T in The Park, Deichbrand and more. With long time producer Lachlan Mitchell back at the desk and Heather’s growing arsenal of new and vintage keyboards pushing the textural frontier, Synthia is a bold assertion of craft that sets this band apart in a world groaning with blokes doing their best impersonation of rock authenticity.
After eighteen months off the road, writing and recording, the band heads on a national, major cities tour on their home turf of Australia. Canadian tour dates will be announced when available.
