Julie & The Wrong Guys Premiere New Video for ‘Farther From You’ via Loudwire
With their self-titled debut released earlier this year, today Julie & The Wrong Guys are premiering the video for a track from the album entitled “Farther From You” via Loudwire, in advance of a run of December tour dates. The video was shot by Jim Agapito with the intention, according to the director, of resembling “a video shot in your parents basement, on the family’s Betamax VHS Camera which had the family vacation video in it that you just accidentally recorded over.” It provides an eerie accompaniment to a track that established the band’s collaborative writing process, a process that fittingly began at bassist Mike Peters’ lakeside vacation home.
“This was the song that got us into the collaborative writing spirit, working together as a band instead of four musicians and songwriters,” he told Loudwire. “We wrote the album at a cottage next to a lake in October, so as we sat around the kitchen table working on the lyrics together the lake imagery served as the perfect metaphor for the ideas that Julie wanted to tackle in this song. Ideas of working to move into a new phase of life, and the uncertainty that comes with that.”
