Hannah Georgas premieres video for “Don’t Go”

The official music video for Hannah Georgas’ “Don’t Go” premiered today at Idolator and Clash Magazine. Watch / share the video below. Of the song, The Wild Honey Pie asserts, “…strikes a perfect balance between lush production and dynamic quiet. The track slowly builds in intensity, as striking percussive hits and her vibrant vocals lead towards the powerful chorus.” Pre-order Hannah Georgas‘ forthcoming album, For Evelyn, on iTunes to receive the track instantly.

Directed by Sammy Rawal (Metric, New Pornographers), the video was produced with the financial assistance of MuchFACT, a division of Bell Media Inc. Of his inspiration behind the video, Rawal comments, “I wanted to play with the idea of ghosts being trapped residual energies within a physical space and used the back-n-forth gif effect to convey this idea of moments from the past replaying on auto-loop.

“Don’t Go” is the lead single from Georgas’ anticipated new full-length album For Evelyn, which will be released June 24. Pre-order the album on iTunes to receive “Don’t Go” as well as the lead track, “Rideback,” instantly. Visit the Dine Alone webstore to order a physical an LP à la carte or with a physical bundle, which includes a limited edition postcard set, muscle tee and more.

Named after Hannah’s “compassionate, patient, kind and beautiful” 98-year-old grandmother, For Evelyn was produced by Graham Walsh (Holy Fuck), mixed by Nicolas Vernhes (The War on Drugs, Animal Collective, Dirty Projectors, etc) and features collaborations with Ryan Guldemond (Mother Mother) and Andy Shauf.

In celebration of the release, Georgas will embark on a North American tour beginning June 17 at Toronto’s Molson Amphitheatre with labelmate City and Colour followed by a series of dates with Boy & Bear. See below for complete details.

Since her debut in 2009, Georgas has released two full-length albums (This is Good (2010) and Hannah Georgas (2012)), toured alongside Sara Bareilles, Kathleen Edwards and City and Colour and had music featured on HBO’s “Girls.” Her most recent self-titled album received widespread critical praise, including notice at NPR Music, Mojo, the Vancouver Weekly and The Huffington Post, which called her “phenomenal.”
