City and Colour premieres “Wasted Love” video by Director X, extends tour

The official music video for City and Colour’sWasted Love” premiered today at Entertainment Weekly. Of the video, which was created by acclaimed music video director, Director X (Drake, Nelly, Usher), Entertainment Weekly praises, “On the album, he wandered into new sonic terrain, lining his tracks with R&B-tinged grooves and hints of psychedelia. A prime example of this genre-blending and bending is the bluesy ‘Wasted Love’.

Wasted Love” is from City and Colour’s highly anticipated new album, If I Should Go Before You, which recently debuted at #16 on the Billboard 200 Chart in the U.S., #3 on the Vinyl Albums Chart and #4 on the Independent Albums Chart. Available now on Dine Alone Records (iTunes, cityandcolour.com), the album also debuted at #1 in Canada (the band’s third consecutive chart-topper) and #5 in Australia.

After performing countless sold-out shows worldwide, City and Colour (aka world-renowned singer, songwriter and performer Dallas Green), will embark on an extensive full band tour this fall and winter, including newly announced U.S. shows in January. Tickets for these 2016 performances go-sale this Friday, October 30 at 10 A.M. local time. American Express Card Members can also purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, October 27 at 10 A.M. local time through Thursday, October 29 at 10:00 P.M. local time, in select markets. See below for complete details.

In addition to widespread commercial success, If I Should Go Before You continues to receive notable critical acclaim. The A.V. Club calls the album “alluring” and “breathtaking,” while AllMusic praises, “…a culmination of the sturdy pop sound he’s built up over the years that weaves through territories of dreamy indie folk, pastoral Americana, and soulful alt-rock.” Additionally, Paste Magazine describes the single, “Lover Come Back,” as “…a gorgeous, R&B-tinged torch song split evenly between joyous, earnest affection and yearning, lovesick sadness,” and Baeble asserts, “…reminded me how beautiful his voice can be.” Moreover, Nerdist recently premiered an “…achingly beautiful…” new acoustic video of the song, which can now be viewed/shared here.
