Alexisonfire announces national support for AUS/NZ tour
ALEXISONFIRE land in Australia in a matter of months for a string of anticipated national all-ages shows kicking off at Perth’s HBF Stadium on Wednesday 11th January, along with a headline slot at Unify Festival. Today, they reveal a stellar support line-up with The Getaway Plan, Behind Crimson Eyes and The Dirty Nil confirmed to join the visitors on their January dates.
With three wildly successful albums under their belt, Melbourne’s THE GETAWAY PLAN will hit the stage as Alexisonfire’s main support, performing songs spanning their entire career from 2004 right through to their latest release, 2015’s Dark Horses. The band’s third studio album, Dark Horses cracked the ARIA Chart Top 10 on debut, was described as “one of the albums of the year” by Music Feeds, and culminated in an epic tour of Australia which saw the band perform over forty shows to thousands of fans.
One of Australia’s most enduring alt-rock outfits, The Getaway Plan are famed for their on-stage energy, and promise to deliver a set that’s nothing short of spectacular when they join Canada’s finest to kick off the New Year. “The Getaway Plan prove time and time again that they’re one of the most talented bands that Australia has to offer and there’s no stopping their success.” – BMA Mag
“… the crowd quickly became an enthralled sea of transcendence at the hand of a seriously competent, wildly talented band.” – Heavy Mag
Fresh from a four-year hiatus, local post hardcore pioneers BEHIND CRIMSON EYES will return to the stage in support of Alexisonfire. Known for their wild on-stage antics, Behind Crimson Eyes will perform songs from their critically acclaimed album A Revelation For Despair, along with tracks from their earlier releases Pavour Nocturnus and Prologue: The Art Of War/Cherry Blossom Epitaph. They’ve played alongside Iron Maiden, Disturbed, Bullet For My Valentine, Atreyu and more, and are ready and raring to set stages alight come January.
Rounding out an epic four-band line-up are Dine Alone Records label mates, THE DIRTY NIL. The trio operates as a cross section of the most essential parts of rock and roll; a combination of unhinged punk rock fury and stick-in-your-head pop melodies. Harnessing the propulsive, kinetic energy of their live shows, The Dirty Nil’s recently released debut album Higher Power features two bonus tracks exclusive to Australian audiences. The band wraps up an extensive North American tour with Billy Talent before touching down on our shores for their first-ever antipodean visit in January 2017.
Consistently hailed as one of the most influential bands ever to emerge from Canada, Alexisonfire return to Australia for their first non-festival headline dates since the band played its sold-out 10th Anniversary Australian shows in 2012. The band released four hugely successful and critically acclaimed albums between 2002 and 2009, amassing a legion of devoted fans across the world. The self-titled debut dropped in 2002 followed by 2004’s Watch Out, 2006’s Crisis, and Old Crows/Young Cardinals in 2009.
Having sold out tours around the world including Canada, United States, UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil and Japan, Alexisonfire will hold no prisoners upon touching down in Australia, delivering their trademark explosive sets to fans of all ages across the country. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see some of rock’s finest in action this January.
