NEW SIGNING: CHILDREN COLLIDE & LIVING END
06.24.09 | posted by: Joel Carriere
We are bringing Australian hero’s Children Collide and juggernaut's The Living End to Canada.
Having toured every inch of Australia in support of their album ‘The Long Now’ with barely a moment to breathe, it’s no shock that Children Collide have been noted as one of Australia’s must-see live acts of 2008. Since then, the “we don’t knock, we kick the door in” trio – made up of Johnny Mackay (guitar,
vocals), Heath Crawley (bass) and Ryan Ceaser (drums) -- have taken their show on the road, completely selling out all dates on their Farewell Rocketship tour in early 2009 before tearing up the US on their Chosen Army tour. The band was received with open arms on this side of the globe, which only made
Canada a natural fit. Children Collide celebrated their signing with a blazing performance when they opened for their new label mates in the roots of our company and AOF's hometown of St.
Catharines. The show was part of the Myspace secret show concert series that took place on June 23rd at L3 Nightclub.
Melbourne rock trio The Living End’s reputation is unquestioned. Chris Cheney (guitars, vocals), Scott Owen (stand-up bass) and Andy Strachan (drums), have seen incredible success over their ten years together including hit songs, gold and platinum albums, festival-headlining appearances, world tours,
award statuettes, and magazine covers. Their 2006 album “State of Emergency” debuted #1 on Australian rock charts, leading to some of the biggest shows of their career. Now with their sights set on Canada, The Living End are carving out an exciting new milestone.
“We launched Dine Alone in Australia in February 2008 to help our artists create a name for themselves down there”, says Joel Carriere, President of Dine Alone. “The last thing I expected was to find all these
great bands for me to bring home, but I guess it all comes down to a two way street. We originally branched out to Australia looking for help and now we’re returning the favour while also introducing a new sound to Canadians.”
Dine Alone/Universal Music Canada will release ‘White Noise’ (The Living End) and “The Long Now
(Children Collide) later this summer.
