CMW 2010 - A Blast!

Canadian Music Week is always a week to remember! CMW 2010 was no different! Over the course of 4 days, 350 bands took over the city of Toronto, playing in venues across the city. In the eye of the storm was Dine Alone Records (which coincidentally was also named Best Independent Label). This accolade wasn’t the only one awarded to the Label; Arkells were named Favourite Live Artist of the Year.

New signings Parlovr, Children Collide and Hot Hot Heat played shows to packed houses as proud new additions to the roster and Moneen performed to a packed house where they performed favourites from their catalogue.

If you were one of the unfortunate show-goers who got stuck waiting outside the venues in the cold/rain and missed seeing the above mentioned acts; our condolences. The good news? There is much more to come from these bands in the near future, including shows in Toronto.

Dine Alone Breeds Future Success

Dine Alone Records is proud to announce the addition of Hot Hot Heat to the roster! You probably met Hot Hot Heat back in 2002 with the release of their album "Make Up The Breakdown". There was no way you escaped the tracks Bandages or Talk To Me, Dance With Me. The band, released two albums after that, with hit songs; Goodnight Goodnight, Middle of Nowhere, Let Me In and many more. And now the band is signed to Dine Alone Records where Steve Bays (vocals and keyboards), Paul Hawley (drums), Parker Bossley (bass) and Luke Paquin (guitar) will release Future Breeds! Arkells receive JUNO Nomination

Arkells have been recognized by The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, receiving a JUNO Nomination for "Best New Group"!
2010 is already proving to be a huge year for the band, who have this year already won Hamilton Music Awards played 4 shows in Vancouver during the Olympics and played alongside Sam Robers.

Dallas and Wade perform on Triple J in Australia

While those of us in the North are bundled up and watching the snow fall, Alexisonfire are on the other side of the world in Australia playing Soundwave.
Dallas and Wade stopped by Triple J to talk tattoos and play a "first time" acoustic version of the Northern. Check it out!

4 Nights of Arkells

While many of us have been caught up in the wins/losses of Team Canada, there has been much more going on in Vancouver for the 2010 Olympics. Canadian musicians are in almost as extensive a showing as our athletes. Knocking the socks off audiences in Vancouver were the Arkells. The band played 4 shows and Vancouver Concert Addicts were there for each one of them.
